TLT Guest Lecture: Turkology Talks - Ethnic Structure Names and Ethnonyms of Turkish Origin in Surnames in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The IUS Turkish Language and Literature, Teaching (TLT) study program is organizing a guest lecture titled “Turkology Talks – Ethnic Structure Names and Ethnonyms of Turkish Origin in Surnames in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (Türkoloji Sohbetleri: Bosna Hersek’teki Soyadlarında Türk Menşeli Etnik Yapı Adları ve Etnonimler).
The guest lecturer, Assistant Prof. Dr. Dženana Bračković, will discuss surnames of Turkish origin in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on their etymology, morphology, and phonology. The lecture will also explore their adaptation into the Bosnian language, as well as the historical and cultural heritage of the Ottoman period in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
